How do I register a student for a trip?
From the Prodigy home page, click on the Login or Register button. You will be prompted to Create an Account. Enter the trip code provided by your school tand follow the directions to register your student and pay the deposit. Bookmark the page for any future payments.

How many students will be sharing a room?
Most schools select quad rooming to help keep trip costs manageable. In this arrangement, four students share a room with two beds. Students are always roomed with same-gender peers only.

How are dietary restrictions or allergies handled with group meals?
Your child's safety is important to us. During the online registration process, you'll have the opportunity to share any medical or religious dietary needs. We pass that information along to restaurants on the tour to help ensure your student is well taken care of. Please note that this applies to medical or religious considerations — we're not able to accommodate selective or picky eating through this process.

What is the cancellation/refund policy?

  • Deposit: All deposits are non-refundable.
  • 60+ days before departure: If a student cancels more than 60 days before the trip, Prodigy will refund any costs that have not yet been paid to vendors on the student's behalf.
  • 30–60 days before departure: Refunds are still possible but will be limited. As the departure date approaches, more trip costs (meals, tickets, hotels, transportation) will already have been paid and cannot be recovered.
  • Less than 30 days before departure: Refunds are not guaranteed and will be evaluated case by case at PST's discretion.

Please note: Refunds will never include costs already paid to vendors — such as meals, tickets, hotels, or transportation — regardless of when a cancellation is made. The earlier you cancel, the more of your payment we may be able to return.

All cancellations must be in writing and made PRIOR to trip departure, submit the cancellation by emailing info@prodigystudenttravel.com. You must alert both the school and Prodigy to be considered for a refund.

Do you recommend trip insurance?
While trip insurance is not required, we encourage families to consider it for added peace of mind. If a student needs to cancel or return home early, a travel insurance policy can help recover non-refundable costs. Reputable providers include Allianz Global Assistance, Travel Guard (AIG), and Travelex Insurance — all of which offer plans families can purchase individually. For the broadest coverage, we recommend purchasing a policy within 14–21 days of your initial deposit.

Please note: Prodigy Student Travel has no affiliation with any insurance provider and receives no compensation for these recommendations. We simply want families to have the information they need to make the best choice for their student.

When is fundraising applied to an account?
Your school manages the details of any fundraising programs and will communicate how credits are applied to your account. Prodigy will apply fundraising funds as directed by the school. Please reach out to your school's tour leader with any fundraising questions.

If there is a discipline issue on the trip involving my child, how will that be handled?
Student safety is always our top priority. All discipline matters are handled by the teacher chaperones on your child's bus, and each situation is addressed individually with your school's conduct guidelines in mind. If a concern arises, parents may be contacted at any time of day. In the event of a serious issue, a student may be dismissed from the trip and sent home immediately.

What if my child gets sick on the tour?
We take student health seriously and will always respond quickly. In the event of a serious medical situation, our first response is to call 911. If your child is unwell but does not require emergency care, a chaperone will stay with them at the hotel for the day to ensure they are comfortable and supervised.

Is there security at the hotel?
Yes. Student safety doesn't stop when touring ends. After returning to the hotel each evening, students go directly to their rooms and are checked in by teacher group leaders. No student is permitted to leave their room after check-in. Prodigy hires professional, background-checked security guards from a bonded security company to patrol hallways from 10:00 PM to 5:30 AM each night.

We also ask that families leave valuables at home. Chaperones and teachers are not responsible for lost items, jewelry, or money, and we encourage students not to leave anything valuable unattended on the bus or in the hotel.

What transportation is used on the trip?
Prodigy partners with trusted motorcoach operators in our region. All coaches are fully insured and carry a minimum of $5,000,000 in General Liability coverage, so you can feel confident your student is traveling safely.

How much money do you need for the trip?
All meals and site admissions are included in the trip cost — families don't need to worry about those basics. Upon departure, each traveler will receive a Jassby Card, a pre-loaded debit card used at food courts and restaurants. Meal allotments are added before each scheduled meal, and any unused funds carry over to the next meal. Any remaining balance at the end of the trip will be accessible for up to 30 days after returning home. Unused funds are not refundable.

If your student would like money for souvenirs or snacks, you're welcome to send additional funds. Please check with your school's tour leader for guidance.

Is your staff background checked?
Yes. All Prodigy tour directors and night chaperones are required to pass a full background check before working with students. Your child's safety is something we take seriously at every level.
